Est. 2026 · a small team, on purpose

Software that earns its keep.

We take one stubborn problem and solve it properly. You see working software every week, not a status report.

Custom development

Most companies don't need "digital transformation." They need one stubborn problem solved well. That's the work we like.

  • The admin panel, the dashboard, the thing your ops team currently runs out of fourteen browser tabs. We replace it with something faster that they'll actually thank you for.

  • Portals, booking systems, member areas: the product your customers log into. Built to load fast, behave on mobile, and not embarrass you under load.

  • Two systems that refuse to talk to each other, and a person copying data between them by hand. We connect them and give that person their afternoons back.

  • Inherited a codebase nobody understands? We stabilise what exists, document it, and rebuild the parts holding you back, without a from scratch gamble.

Fourteen tabs, one screen. Ops lead
Bulk actions. Anything but one row at a time. Warehouse
Six hours a week back. Per person. Measured, not guessed
Has to survive a phone on 4G in a car park. Reality check
Members log in, and stop emailing us to move a date. Support
Under one second to first paint. A budget, not a hope
Stripe to Xero, nightly. Nobody re-keys an invoice. Finance
If it fails at 3am it retries, and tells a human by nine. Non-negotiable
One source of truth. Pick it now, argue later. Day one decision
No docs, no tests, one person who sort of remembers. What we inherited
Stabilise, document, then replace the worst third. In that order. The plan
No big bang rewrite. They fail, expensively. Learned the hard way

How a project actually goes

Four stages, four weeks to a first release in most cases. Nothing here is a surprise once we've started.

  1. Week 0. Talk. A real conversation about the problem, not a sales call. We tell you if we're the wrong fit.
  2. Week 1. Scope. A short written plan: what we'll build, what it costs, when it lands. Fixed, so there are no surprise invoices.
  3. Every week after. Build. You see working software every week, not a status report. Course correct early, and cheaply.
  4. At launch. Hand off. You own the code, the accounts, the documentation. No lock in, no hostage situation.

Our own products

When we notice the same problem at three different clients, we build the product. Here's the board as it stands today.

Who you'll actually be working with

ByteX AI started the way a lot of good software does: someone was doing a job badly with the wrong tools, got annoyed enough to build the right ones, and discovered other people had the same problem.

We're deliberately small. The person who scopes your project is the person who writes the code. There's no handoff to a junior team you never met, and no account manager translating between you and the people who matter. When you email us, a human who understands your build replies.

We work mostly with UK based clients, and we say no to projects we don't think we can do well. It keeps the work honest.
